What free software, on the computer, can i download so i can put music to my lyrics?

i write alot of music, but i only play the clarinet. my mom forced me to play it. now i want to find a free down-loadable software that i can use to basically put original music to my songs. i need music because if u read the freakin thing u would kno that the only intrument i play is clarinet because my mom forced me to!

1. If you write music, why do you need software? There were no computers in the days when the Beatles were composing their greatest hits
2. try audacity i have that i make some nice music with it or you can get fruity loops but im not sure if that has a free download thats a reallly good program
