Freeware Software Download

Does anyone know of a freeware software to make a cross-stitch pattern?

I have a picture I want to make into a cross-stitch pattern.

1. You can usually down load these from bit torrent sites.
2. As far as I know, the freeware that are available are not that good in transferring photos to charts, I recommend using a proper professional one instead.
